A. D. Roy was born December 13, 1946, to the late A D and Bernethia Burton in Picayune, MS. He was married to the late Dora Roy. He was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School in Picayune, Mississippi and a US Army Veteran. He was employed as a laborer and worked at Ingalls Shipyard and Huey P. Stockstill, LLC.
On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, A D departed this earthly life.
A. D. is survived by his children Sandra, Adrienne, Anthony, Irene, and Reginald; his siblings Juanita Terrell, Don Griffith, Joseph (Lenora) Burton, Felecia (Coleman) Davis, and Victor (Tara) Burton; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00am at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 501 Weems Street, Picayune, MS 39466, with Military Honors. Visitation will be at 10:00am at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 501 Weems Street, Picayune, MS 39466
