1944 - 2026

Pearl Elon Magee affectionately known as "Mac" or "Big Mac" passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, age 81. He was born on November 24, 1944, to the late Otis Magee, Sr. and Eller Magee in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

Pearl was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the age of 16 and he was appointed as a Ministerial Servant shortly after. After graduating high school, he moved to the Lutcher, LA area and served as a full-time pioneer where the need was great. After Pearl retired from Entergy in 205, he returned to the full-time pioneer work for a while.

Pearl received his high school diploma from Carver High School in Pascagoula, MS. He worked in the Nuclear Power Field for several decades as a Quality Assurance Inspector throughout the United States. He also held several different specialty certifications which enabled him to work as an inspector anywhere in the United States. After retiring from Entergy, he worked part time as a school bus driver for St. John the Baptist Parish School System.

Pearl was a dedicated body builder during his early adult life which is when he got the nick name "Big Mac". He also did competitive are wrestling for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris Magee of Laplace, LA, son Bruce Magee (Juanita) of Lawrenceville, GA, son Michael Magee of Chicago, IL, daughter Elondra Magee of Laplace, LA, sister Ora L. Magee of Bellwood, IL, 2 grandchildren, Anthony Alexis (Jeremy), great grandchild, Jace, 4 nieces and 3 grand nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents the late Otis Magee, Sr. and Eller Magee, his brother Otis Magee, Jr., his sister Mellonese Dorris, his son Christopher Magee.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a visitation from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Patrick H. Sanders Funeral Home, 605 Main Street, Laplace, LA 70068. Interment St. John Memorial Garden, 2205 W. Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068.
