It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Anthony Wayne Johnson III (A.W), a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who went to heaven on September 20, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on March 18, 1950, in Macon, Georgia, A.W. dedicated his life to his family, his old school work ethic as a skilled railroad mechanic, and his love of hotrod, classic cars.

A.W. was a devoted family man, survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Blanche, and his two children, son Wayne and daughter Beth (Phil). He was a very proud grandfather to his grandkids: Mary (Jonny), Blane, Carson, Avery, and Brook, as well as a great-grandfather to Landon. He leaves lasting impacts of love and laughter to all.

A.W.'s dutiful, and quiet demeanor made him a steadfast friend to many, and his unwavering support for those he loved is a testament to his character. He will be remembered not just for his work, but for the commitment and compassion he extended to everyone who knew him.

As we reflect on his life, let us remember the profound impact A.W. had on us all, cherishing the memories that will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so generously shared during his life.

Funeral services will be held in remembrance of A.W.'s life and the legacy he leaves behind. The family invites all who knew him to join them in honoring his memory. Family will be receiving friends on Thursday September 25, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Moloney–Hewell Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd S., Jacksonville, FL 32216.
