Aaron Thad Ricketts, 48, of Ninety-Six, husband of April McGill Ricketts, died Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. Thad was born in Greenwood to the late Tommy and Darilyn King Ricketts.
Thad or affectionally known as ‘Stick’ was a proud 1995 graduate of Abbeville High School and held his faith in the Presbyterian Church close to his heart. He was employed with Symrise Pet Food in Hodges, where his dedication and work ethic shone brightly. Thad was also known for his love of grilling and frequently lent a helping hand at Broken Road Barbeque. He cherished time spent outdoors, whether it was shooting pool, hunting, listening to music or enjoying precious moments with family and friends.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, William Ryder Tumblin and his father-in-law, William McGill.
Thad is survived by his wife April of 18 years of the home; two sons, Corey Tumblin of Panama City Beach, FL and Blake Tumblin of Hodges, SC; a brother, Dustan Ricketts (Katie) of Abbeville, SC; a sister, Jessica R. Dipner (Neil) of Prosperity, SC; a grandson, Walker Rhett Tumblin; mother-in-law, Judy McGill of Donalds, SC; two aunts, Terry King Hughes and Angie King (Randy Smith) of Abbeville, SC; two uncles, Darrell Ricketts (Lisa) of Aynor, SC and Terry Ricketts (Millie) of Abbeville, SC; two sisters-in-law, Amber Reaves (Chris) of Ware Shoals, SC and Cammie Vivanco-Hernandez of Ninety-Six, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A celebration of Thad’s life will be 5:00PM Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
The family are at their respective homes.
