Sergeant Aaron Stephen Rollins (8-12-72) fell asleep in death on 12-28-23.
Aaron served bravely in the U.S Army. He served with B company, 3-172 Mountain Infantry as they deployed together to Iraq. He forged many deep and lasting friendships as well as forever mourned the loss of his fallen brothers David Veverka and Dale Kelly jr.
Aaron is predeceased by this mother, BettyMae Rollins and father Reginald Rollins as well as his beloved dog Mable who got him through many a cold Maine winter night. Aaron is also predeceased by loyal friend, "two n" Glenn Hartley. Shake and bake, my brother.
Aaron is survived by his eternal wife Mrs. Sarah Rae Rollins, his beloved daughter Lorien Rae Rollins, his legacy/granddaughter Cora, his beloved sister Sandra who, "sang like an angel", sister Sherry, cousins Kim, Boo, DJ and Jazzy and Aunt Sandy who never failed to call every Sunday with an invite for a meal and good company. Many nieces nephews and family members
During the last 3 years, Aaron was a huge asset to society. He learned from his time serving with friends like Chris Plourde (who was BettyMae's favorite) in the Boy Scouts what it meant to be a leader in the community. From holding rank of Commander at the Legion to Jr. Vice at the VFW to writing and back his "Defend The Guard" bill with Senator Eric Brakey, Aaron made a difference. Yes baby, you DID have the right to exist. We all love and miss you.
During Aaron's time in Iraq, he forged a deep friendship with a fellow soldier, Javad. Javad states during this time, Aaron was a beacon of courage, honor, and selflessness. Aaron understood that the call to service extended beyond the battlefield. Whether in the deserts of Iraq or the halls of advocacy, Aaron exemplified the qualities of a true leader. His legacy of bravery and service will continue to inspire generations. Aaron and Javad found refuge from the harsh realities of war through a shared passion, chess. Aaron's sharp mind and tactical prowess were evident not only in his military service but also in the way he approached each move on the chessboard.
Aaron was a Soldier, a father, a husband, a carpenter, a music buff, a tv and movie buff, a story teller, a Mason, a Mormon, a "birder", ( something we discovered later in life) generous, kind, loving, and forgiving.
Aaron's celebration of life will be held Feb. 24 from 1-4 PM at the Madison VFW located at 58 Preble Ave. Madison, ME. In lieu of flowers, please make all donations directly to the Madison VFW post 7865.
