Aaron Emmett Saathoff, age 97, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born September 6, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Stephen James and Susan Ann White Saathoff.
Aaron lived a full and dedicated life, marked by his service, Masonic affiliations, and love for his family. He graduated from West High School in 1946. His service to his country included two years in the U.S. Army, serving in Japan and Korea.
He was a Past Master of Wasatch Lodge No. 1, 33° Scottish Rite Mason, York Rite Mason, and Past Potentate of El Kalah Shrine.
Aaron is survived by his daughter, Annette Gertz (Roger); grandsons Ben Gertz (Aubrey), Kyle Gertz (Liz), Great-grandsons Zander, Otto, & Cooper, and Great-granddaughter Addison. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Dona, his son Paul, and his three sisters and a brother.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff at the VA (Veterans Affairs), Monument Health, and particularly Superior Nursing for the loving care they provided.
Funeral Services
Masonic funeral services will be conducted by the officers and members of Wasatch Lodge No. 1 at 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 24th, at Memorial Mortuaries, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. The family will receive friends and family two hours prior to the service.
Donations
In lieu of flowers, donations in Aaron’s memory are appreciated to The Masonic Center Restoration Fund (MCRF) at 650 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84102.
