Abba Graf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chandler Funeral Home - Ellettsville Chapel on Feb. 3, 2026.
Abba Jean (Mominee) Graf passed away at the age of 87 on Wednesday, January 28th. We are at peace knowing that she has got to be with her Heavenly Father as well as her loved ones that passed before her, including her mother, Abba Ella Gibson, and her father, Glen Ralph Mominee, as well as her recently passed beloved brother, John Wayne Mominee.

Abba Jean was born July 16th 1938 in Evansville, Indiana. Growing up in Evansville, she was surrounded by grandparents and extended family. Her close knit family influenced her devotion to making her love of family at the heart of everything she did. Her first career was raising her family and being a devoted mother and loving wife. She married the love of her life, Don Graf, June 14, 1958, and they have had 68 glorious years of marriage and eternal love. They were completely inseparable.

After raising her family, she went back to school for interior design. What started as a hobby, building, renovating and designing multiple homes with her husband Don, turned into a lifelong passion which combined with her love of collecting antiques blended perfectly to create her interior design business.

Abba Jean had a wonderful enthusiasm for adventure. She and Don greatly enjoyed traveling together and sharing new experiences with one another no matter how big or small. Beyond her excitement for adventure, she had an infectious and lively personality that everyone was drawn to. She made people feel safe, heard, and always loved, which is no small feat.

Abba Jean spent her later years enjoying precious time with her only grandchild and served as a role model and mentor for both her daughter, Kelly, and granddaughter, Olivia.

Abba Jean is survived by her husband, Don, her children Keith Graf, Kelly Graf Logan, (Rob), her grand daughter Olivia Milam, step grand daughter Avery Logan, and sister, Brenda Jones.

Abba Jean's family would like to thank the staff of Redcrest Hospice house as well as care giver Melissa Koss, Dr. Jamie Bales, and Dr. Brad Bomba for the care and compassion they showed to her in her final days.

We are celebrating Abba Jean's life on Thursday, February 12th at City Church (1200 N. Russell Rd. Bloomington, IN) Visitation will be from 11am-1pm with refreshments and light lunch selections, followed by a short service at 1:00 pm. Friday February 13th she will be laid to rest in Evansville, IN at Oak Hill Cemetery. Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville is assisting with arrangements.
