Abbie Patricia "Pat" King Moon

Abbie Patricia "Pat" Moon, known for her warmth and gentle spirit, passed away peacefully at her residence in Gastonia, NC. Pat was born on June 7, 1939, in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, to Albert and Cannie King. She was the beloved wife of Cecil Moon for nearly 61 years.
 
 In her professional life, Pat dedicated many years to working in accounting at Kingsway while also excelling as a homemaker. Her passion for cooking and baking brought joy to those around her, especially her renowned coconut cakes. Beyond her professional and culinary talents, she found great pleasure in crocheting and creating beautiful crafts.
 
 Pat cherished moments spent with family and friends, often hosting gatherings during special occasions like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Her strong faith was evident through her membership at City Church.
 
 One of Pat's proudest accomplishments was her son Scott Moon, his wife Caroline, and their children Abbey Osborne and Alex Moon. She adored her grandchildren and took immense pride in their achievements.
 
Pat is survived by her loving family including her husband of almost 61 years, Cecil Moon; her son Scott Moon, his wife Caroline, and their children Abbey Osborne (Jonathan) and Alex Moon; sisters Barbara Frye (Cecil), Mary Ball, Myrtle Callahan; cousin and lifelong best friend Peggy Traina; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert King and Cannie Biddix King and brothers James Thomas King, William Kestler King, Johnny Richard King.
 
 A visitation for Pat will be held on June 13, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation in Gastonia. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 PM at the same location with Pastor Dickie Spargo officiating. . The entombment will take place at Evergreen A Quiet Place Mausoleum
