Abigail Elizabeth Schauer (“Abbie”) passed away unexpectedly on January 9th, 2023. She was only 31 years young. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. Abbie was born on August 9th,1991 to David and Paula Schauer. She is survived by her parents, sister, Laura, brother-in-law, Rohan, nephew, Rennie and niece, Teagan as well as her loving extended family and dear friends. She is pre-ceased by her grandfathers, Bernard Fridley and Karl Schauer, great uncle Neal Cook and great aunt and uncle, Walter Neudeck and Elizabeth Neudeck.
Abbie was a graduate of Arundel High School in 2009 and was Wildcat proud as the Varsity Football team manager. She continued her passion for football as a “Terp” at the University of Maryland College Park where she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in 2015. Most of all, she was a dedicated fan of the Baltimore Ravens and loved sharing game time with her father and at Raven’s stadium when possible. She was an active participant in philanthropic activities, including Appalachia Service Project trips, Habitat for Humanity, and MSP Polar Bear Plunge.
Abbie was known for her witty personality, love of telling jokes and her wealth of knowledge, which supported her winning record in Trivial Pursuit as well as music and history fact checks. She adored and admired her sister, Laura, and loved one on one time with her mother. She will be missed as our “shopping buddy” and her capacity to light up a room with her brilliant smile and infectious laugh. She loved family gatherings and trips, with her favorite being summer afternoon cookouts eating Maryland steamed crabs. Her more recent loves of life included being “Tante” to Rennie and Teagan, trying newly found recipes to test her skills in baking and cooking, and painting.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Abigail's life at the Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Highway, Bowie, Maryland on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
