After graduating from Tawas Area High School, Abe served in the Army for three years and was stationed in Korea. After his military service, he pursued a career as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service (USPS). Abe loved the outdoors. He cherished his motorcycle trips out west and spent his retirement fishing from his boat and the East Tawas Dock. Fulfilling his lifelong dream to live in "God's Country," he eventually settled in Rapid River, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula, where he enjoyed the beauty and great fishing the area had to offer.
Abe will be deeply missed and is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Shane) Scherzer; son, Abraham (Sudarut) Johnroe V; and grandchildren, Liam and Sophia Scherzer. Abe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gregory Johnroe.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date with close family. Abe's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
