Ada Abshire Obituary
Reverend Troy Duhon will be officiating her service at the Gueydan Cemetery.
Ms. Ada was born on September 15, 1941, to the late James Henry Davis and Mary Ann Davis. She worked as a housekeeper for the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home from 1994-2013, for which she received numerous awards and recognition. Beyond her work pursuits, she greatly enjoyed a handheld game of poker. She loved doing puzzles and crafts in her spare time. Ada delighted in the fresh air of the outdoors, and fishing whenever she had the opportunity to. A beloved sister and aunt who will be missed by all who knew her.
Ada is survived by one brother, Richard Davis (Carolynne) and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Henry Davis and Mary Ann Davis; sisters, Winnie Houser, Irene "Sis" Olgesby, Emmer Jean Davis, Mary Jane Christian, Della Hodge and Martha Wilson; brothers, Pat Davis and Bud Davis.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home GUEYDAN, 514 Second Street Gueydan, LA 7542
