Ada Jane (Jan) Bennett, 90, of Wappapello, MO passed away on January 09, 2026, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Jan was born on March 21, 1935, to Max and Jane (Fisher) Reed Hendon in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Jan, also known as Poodle, to her friends and God children, Babe by her husband, and went by the title of Camp Directoress. She enjoyed the sun and many years of hunting, fishing, and exploring the shoreline of Lake Wappapello. She was an excellent cook and surrogate parent to all her family and friends.
Jan is survived by her sisters, Carol (Bob) Weinstein, and Holly Hendon; special life-long friend, Rosemary Rauch Lumsden, along with numerous cousins and friends.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Jane; husband, Carroll Parker (Punch) Bennett; infant son, Carroll P Bennett Jr.; and brother, Dwight Hendon.
Private memorial service will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the City of Morehouse, Local Animal Rescue or the charity of your choice.
