Ada Miranda

Ada Miranda, 98, of Bayville, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family at her side, on October 16, 2022. Ada was affectionately known to all who loved her as "Tita". She was born and raised in Oriente, Cuba, she settled to New York in 1947. She then married and raised her family in New Jersey and was a longtime resident here. Ada was a devoted homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. Ada was a devoted parishioner of St. Barnabas Church in Bayville. She was the world's best cook and would always find her at the stove preparing a meal for anyone. You never left her home hungry. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, Jose. She also was predeceased by her son Joseph Miranda, her daughter Adela Miranda and her granddaughter Amanda Russo.
Surviving are her children, Marien Hummel, Nejie Sylvester, Yvonne Miranda-Martinez and her husband Marty, Ada Miranda, and daughter-in-law Deborah Miranda. Also, her grandchildren, Matthew and Wendy Hummel, Laura and Charlie Hoffmann, Anthony Russo and his wife Nichol, Keith Breitweiser, Alyssa Breitweiser, Deedre and Mark Mortensen, Kristen and David Ross, Lindsey Miranda, Amanda Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Michael Martinez and Christopher Martinez. Also surviving are eight Great Grandchildren and her sister Esther Chediak-Hernandez.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, Oct. 20th, from 5pm to 7pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Friday, 9:30am at the funeral home before celebrating a 11am Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church in Bayville. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River.
