Ada Mae Schulze Pendarvis went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2025 at the age of 96. Ada was born on February 14, 1929 in Westcliffe, CO to Joseph and Thelma Schulze. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse and graduated from Custer County High School in 1947. Later in life, Ada attended Pikes Peak Community College and earned her nursing degree in 1972. She worked at St. Thomas More Hospital for over thirty years.
Ada was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Missouri Synod and an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Canon City. She was very active in her church, loved to cook, read and spend time with her family at the family cabin in Wyoming. Her favorite pastime was her family, especially her grandchildren. Ada always had a smile, hug, and kiss for them all.
Ada married John Y. Koch on January 28, 1951 and they had three children, Bruce (Lynn) Koch, Marsha (Tom) Wilcox and Carolyn (Jeff) Letofsky. Ada married Robert H. Pendarvis June 7, 1986.
She is survived by her children, eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Ada was preceded in death by her husband Robert; sister, Leotus Seybold; and great-grandson, Michael West.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Holt Chapel of the Garden: 806 Macon Ave, Canon City. Funeral service will be at 10a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church: 790 Greydene Ave, Canon City, with Pastor Dan Kletke officiating.

My heart goes out to your family. Ada was a friend as well as a cousin we shared a lot of good memories. Beautiful person inside and out.
