Ada Whitlock

Ada Mae Thomas-Whitlock, 79, of Folkston, Ga. passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 24, 1946 to the late, Mattie Camel-Thomas and J.W. Thomas in Quitman, Ga. Ada Mae was educated in the public school system of Georgetown County, Ga. (Quitman, Ga.) and continued her education taking college courses in Nursing while residing in New Jersey. After relocating to Folkston, Ga., Ada worked as a Dietician at Charlton Memorial Hospital and worked as a CNA at the convalescent home that is now known as Folkston Park.

Ada was a member of the House of Faith. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, interior decorating and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Mattie and J W Thomas; her husband, Willie Whitlock; a grandson, Asmar Walker, a sister, Mattie Lee Wright; a niece who was like a sister, Lizzy "Diane" Maxwell; a nephew who was like a brother, Henry "Vern" Hill.

Those left to cherish her memory: four daughters, Sharon Whitlock-Bey, Kingsland, Ga., Jean (Willie) Brown, Hinesville, Ga., Geraldine Whitlock and Tamika Brown, both of Folkston, Ga.; (14) grandchildren, Katrin Whitlock, Kavon Whitlock, Sabrina Jernigan, Tyrell Walker, Shanae McArthur, Kevin Whitlock, Germainia Jernigan, Al'Shakar McArthur, Davion Whitlock, Ayona Bey, Imaee' Smith, Imani Richardson, Mada Whitlock and Imod Hamilton; (27) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

There will not be a wake/visitation prior to services.

Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services on the day of services.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 @ 2:00 pm at House of Faith, 3665 Paxton Road, Folkston, Ga.

There will be a private disposition following services.
