Adair Barge was born to Janine Wilson and Edmund Barge on June 15th, 1939, in Ben Hill, Georgia. From the sprouting of life in Ben Hill to the tree of life in South Fulton, we celebrate a life complete. His branches-children, grandchildren, and extended family celebrate the root from which we came.
After 50 years in an illustrious career as an over-the-road truck driver, Adair retired to Southwest Atlanta where he resided until his untimely passing. Adair's bountiful life and the lessons, gleaned from countless cities and states travelled, provided him with insight and understanding into the rich meaning of life: Live, Love and Laugh with purpose. Adair's illuminating life endures as a memorial to live fully and love completely. To live fully as brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunts in service and support to one another. To love completely as a friend, confidant, and unwavering companion in service and support to one another.
Adair personified all that it is to be a father, a friend and confidant. Those of us who live in loving memory of him do not mourn his passing but reflect on a life full of wisdom and understanding, compassion and pride for a life well lived. His passing is a present opportunity to personify Adair through our courage to listen, learn, and love one another. There's no better way to honor a great soul than by being a great person. Let our greatness be a continuation, a branch from the tree of life from which we sprout, flourish and grow as family and friends.
Adair was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Sallie Mae Riley, brothers, Mr. Edwards E. Barge Sr. aka Red and Cleveland Barge aka Clebo, daughter, Gloria Barge Smith, son, Anthony Barge, and granddaughter, Asia Luke. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Regina Barge Bolden (Charles), Evette Barge, Wykesha Luke, Ortavis Luke; stepdaughters, Brendolyn Burns and Regina Burns-Elligan; stepson, Kennth Hubbard; grandchildren, ShaQuita Miller (Darius), Eric Luke, Diamanté Luke, Oreana Luke, Dereon Brown, Aliyah Luke, Jasmine Burns, Brandon Elligan, Anthony Barge Jr. (Kaylen), Joshua Barge (Destiny) Ansley Barge, Samuel Barge, Christian Barge, Isaiah Barge, Neziah Barge, Federico Johnson, Acquantus, Latorrey, and Deshuntae Abercrombie, Apollo Barge, Ivory Childs, LaToya Hines (Matt), Antonio Maxwell, Latisha James (Antijuan), Cedrick Jackson (Precious), Robert Hubbard (Monika); and a host of nieces and nephews.
