Adam Troy Atterberry was born on June 16, 1962, in Mount Vernon, New York, to Adam and Geraldine Atterberry. He was raised in the Mount Vernon Public School System and went on to serve his country with pride in the United States Army. Prior to his military tour, he married his high school sweetheart and the mother of his firstborn, Troy Jr., Felita Atterberry. During his time in the military, he built lifelong friendships, especially while stationed in Korea.
Troy had a deep love for music and a natural ear for sound. After completing his service in the Army, he pursued a career in the entertainment industry, where he wrote for various artists and contributed to numerous creative projects.
Above all else, Troy loved God and his family. They were the cornerstone of his life and the source of his greatest joy.
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, Adam Troy departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father, joining a host of loved ones who preceded him in death- his father, Adam, his brother, Rodney, both maternal and paternal grandparents, along with several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Troy Jr. (Watts) and Aryanna (Pup); his devoted mother, Geraldine Alston; his grandchildren, Nevaeh, Kai (Webb), Kingston, and Amias; his loving sisters, Kenya and Kimara; and his brother, Antoine. He is also survived by a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends who became like family.
Among those who held a special place in his heart were his lifelong friends, the Blagmon brothers, whom he considered his own, and his daughter's mother, Rhonda.
Troy will be remembered for his kindness, his strength, his passion for music, and the deep love he had for the people in his life. His spirit, warmth, and creativity will always be remembered.

I'm still reeling from the news. My heart goes out to Troy's big, loving family. I met Troy online through his sister Kimara (my homie) and we quickly became friends, texting daily about the things that mattered most to us. Our conversations were filled with uplifting messages, and we often shared our love for God and gratitude for the blessings in our lives. Though life got busy, and we lost touch, Troy's kindness and positive outlook have left a lasting impact on me. May he now rest in peace, "spreading love" and joy from heaven.
