Adam or Grande as i would call him is one the most remarkable people you would ever wanna meet...With the ability to make anyone smile no matter how hard they were trying to be mad...I always told him he had an old soul because of the wisdom he posessed...Always there to help even if he didnt know you...Now I know why God wanted him up there with him...It was because he was truely an angel down here...Adam you will forever be deeply missed down here but it calms my spirit to know youre in heaven watching over us....I love you...

Visitation for Adam Simon Castro will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Monday, June 23, 2008 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with a Wake service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Arvin Assembly of God Church (201 S. Hill Street) on Tuesday morning, June 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Arvin Cemetery. Adam was born April 8, 1985 and he passed away June 14, 2008 in Bakersfield, CA. Adam is preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis and Norma Brown and his Godmother, Hope Aguilar. He is survived by his paternal grandfather, Simon Castro; paternal grandparents, Lucy Ramirez and Robert Gonzales; parents, Charles and Yvette Brown; brothers, Greg, Angelo and Jay Brown; sisters, Jacqueline and Christine Brown and Bennie Castro; son, Elijah Castro; daughters, Mariah and Alyssa Castro; girlfriend, Maricela Cedeno; cousin, Joe as well as numerous other family members and friends. This is indeed a sad day for all of us. We have lost such a great person. I think sharing our grief would help us ease our burdens. Adam Castro may have meant something to each and everyone of you, personally, he was a guardian angel to his family and friends. In remembering his younger days when he was in school he would get into fights because of friends and siblings. He was a protector of many. He was also a person people could confide in. They could talk to him about anything because he never judged or scolded them. He had this trait where he could always turn a dull party or BBQ around. Adam was such a character he was always dancing around because he loved music. He knew how to be serious at times and he also knew when to joke around. As a friend, he was also very dear. He always found time to be with his friends. He was a very loyal and kind friend. He could be very immature at times but that's just because he was still a child inside a young man's body. I know he left lots of things undone and others that he never had a chance to start. But his children, family and friends can continue what he has started and hopefully fulfill his dreams for him. This is just my small way of saying thank you for everything he did for us. I remember listening to our mother and his girlfriend talk about his love for fishing he shared along with our father. They were talking about taking Adam's son Elijah fishing, they laughed about it and said that grandpa would have to be the one to take the little one fishing. Let's just be thankful for all the special moments that our brother has left us. And with that, I hope that our brother will continue to live on within our hearts and minds.
