Addie Lee Plank

Mr. Addie Lee Plank, 80 of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Friday evening, December 13, 2024, at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky after a brief illness.

He was born November 4, 1944, in Rowan County, Kentucky to the late Sam and Edna Conley Plank.

Addie was a well-known businessman in Rowan County. He bought, sold, moved, rented and did anything to do with a mobile home. He began his working career as a stone mason and builder. He had also farmed, raising tobacco, cattle and hogs. He loved working his business and also enjoyed traveling, horses, square body trucks and spending time with his family and friends. Addie was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Plank Masters, his brothers, Wilburn, Charles, Ervin, Roger, Willis, Jack and Wilford Ray. Sisters, Sylvia Boone and Patty Fowler. Also, two grandchildren Jeffrey Plank and Cody Catching.

Survivors include his wife Heather Purnell Plank, One son, Addie Lee Plank, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Morehead. Two daughters, April Saunders and her husband Donnie of Flemingsburg, Kentucky and Samantha Plank of Morehead. He also help raise Austin Elliott, wife Autumn and Cody Lewis all of Morehead. He thought of them as his sons. Brothers; Jerry (Valerie) Plank, Lonnie, Curt (Ollie) Plank and Vincil (Madge) Plank all of Morehead. One sister, Christine Wagoner of Morehead. A half-brother, Ron Reeder of Flemingsburg. Grandchildren include Ashley Dummitt, Nathan Richmond, Madison Bentley, Christian Plank, Channing Plank, Ethan Jordan, Hallie Plank, Gavin Crouch, Marcus Richmond, Michael Richmond, Easton Elliott and Hudson Elliott. Three step-grandchildren, Mia Boggs, Kenzie Boggs and Heather Boggs. Twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow in the Plank Family Home Cemetery.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 1:00 P.M. Tuesday.

Pall bearers will be Samantha Plank, Gavin Crouch, Christian Plank, Austin Elliott, Cody Lewis, Jeff French, Nathan Richmond and Mel Bradley. Honorary bearers will be Dukie Adams, Red Bradley and Bo Sparks.
