Adela Torres Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Resthaven Funeral Home - Aransas Pass on Mar. 2, 2026.
Taft – Adela Saldivar Torres passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026 following a sudden illness. Her treasured and loving family were by her side. She was 78 years old.

Adela was born on September 28, 1947 in Taft, Texas to Eusebia (Rojas) and Louis Saldivar. A lifelong resident of the Coastal Bend, she spent most of her years in Taft, and most recently made her home in Portland then Corpus Christi.

Adela was the heart and matriarch of her family. Her love for her children and grandchildren was boundless, and she nurtured them with strength, warmth and unwavering devotion. Her home was a cherished gathering place where family and friends were always welcomed with delicious home-cooked meals, lively conversation and the sounds of her favorite music - especially artist Ruben Naranjo. She loved to sing, tend to her garden and search for hidden treasures at garage sales and flea markets. Gifted with her hands and generous in spirit, Adela could mend clothing with ease - and just as effortlessly mend an aching heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eusebia Sauceda and Louis Saldivar; her siblings, Angelina Rodriguez, Eva Saldivar, Adan Saldivar, Maximo Saldivar, Louis Saldivar, Jr. and his wife Dora, Esteban Sauceda; and her sister-in-law, Florinda Sauceda.

She leaves behind a loving legacy in her daughter, Diana Torres from Corpus Christi, Texas; her cherished grandchildren, Lupe Moreno, Jr. (Valerie Calderon), Daniel Moreno, Crystal Soto, Aaron Soto and Tony Garcia, Jr.; her beloved great-grandchildren, June Marie Moreno and Scarlett Faith Moreno. She is also survived by her sister, Eusebia Hinojosa (Gilbert); her brother, Rufino Sauceda, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members; and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass. All other services will be private.
