Adelaide Mary Schneider

Adelaide Mary Schneider, 88, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on Sunday November 23, 2025, in St. Vincent’s Hospital. She was the loving wife to Walter Schneider. Adelaide was born in Greenwich, CT on October 1, 1937, to the late Vincenzo and Carolina Colosimo Tordo.

After graduating from JM Wright, Adelaide worked as a Hairdresser and then moved on to working for Avon products for many years. In her younger years she loved ice skating, more recently she enjoyed a good crossword puzzle, watching game shows, and making sure the bird feeders were always stocked. Nothing gave her more enjoyment than being with her family and close friends.

In addition to her husband, Walter, she is survived by her children, Brian Kelly, and Patricia Metrano. She is the loving grandmother of Jonathan Metrano. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Orlando Tordo, and sister Jean O’Brien.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday December 1, 10AM at St. Pius X Church 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Greenwich.
