Adele Carr Copeland

Adele Carr Copeland, 72, of Suffolk, VA, passed away on December 22, 2024, surrounded by family. Born June 17, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Juanita Carr. She was predeceased by her brother, Morgan Carr.
Adele was a servant at heart, as she cared for and served her family well along with her patients of thirty-eight years as a nurse and pacemaker coordinator at Obici Memorial Hospital. She was a wonder when it came to quilting, gardening, canning, and cooking, and she loved to vacation with her family. One of her many joys was preparing Saturday night feasts for her family then playing a game of cards or putting a puzzle together with her grandchildren.
Her faith was grounded in Jesus Christ, and she now resides in her heavenly home with our Heavenly Father.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Benny T. Copeland, Sr.; her children, Ben Copeland and his wife Deborah, Stacey Griffis and her husband Donald; five grandchildren, Caleb and Zachary Copeland, and Mackenzie, Samantha, and Cole Griffis; her brother, Maxie Nance; along with many "adopted" children throughout the years.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at 11 AM at Great Fork Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Downtown Suffolk Chapel is serving the family.
