Adele Dominguez

Adele W. Dominguez, was born in New Orleans on August 7, 1931. A long-time resident of Houston, TX, Adele passed peacefully on March 19, 2022 at home with her husband, Blake, of 68 years, and son, Blake Jr. at her side. She was 90. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Walker, and 3 older brothers, Paul, Donald, and Raymond Maestri. She is survived by her son Blake Jr. (Monica Barbenza) Dominguez, and her daughters Cathy Converse, Beth (Larry) Sams, and Elaine (Dirk) Taylor. Adele cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Jonathan (Akilah) Dominguez, Matthew Dominguez, Chris Sams (Tara Morgan), Carly Rogers, Elisia Crawford, Cristen Converse, Kellie (Matthew) Taormina, Amy Dominguez, Sara (Lee) Beckmann, Curtis (Milena) Converse, Cameron Taylor, Erica (Steven) Griffith, Candace Taylor, and Brooke (Riggin) Anderson.
Great-grandchildren are Kylie, Ashton, Ethen, Madison, Eli, Luca, Hudson, Avery Sloan, Avery, Elliot, Jillian, Tucker, Holden, Emery, Logan, Autumn, and Cora.
Adele was very active in sports. In her high school years, she was the star of the state championship basketball team. In later years she participated in the Senior Olympic Games in basketball and won a total of 14 medals. She was also very active in the Catholic Church and an avid fisherman.
Visitation will be at Jacob Schoen Funeral Home in New Orleans at 9:30 on Friday, March 25, 2022 followed by a 11:00 Funeral Mass conducted by her great nephew, RT. Rev. Tim Hedrick. Interment to follow at Hope Mausoleum. A Memorial service will be on April 7, at 10:30 in Houston at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church.
