Adele Nowacki Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Coon Rapids on Mar. 13, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Adele (Sczepanski) Nowacki
Adele (Sczepanski) Nowacki, age 92, of Brooklyn Park, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 23, 1933, in Stephen, Minnesota, Adele's life was one of resilience, faith, and love. After having her children, she moved to Blaine in the early 1970s. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a psych tech at Cambridge State Hospital and Anoka County Hospital, always showing compassion and strength.
In her mid-40s, Adele faced a life-changing stroke that left the right side of her body paralyzed. Doctors said she would never walk again, but Adele's determination, sheer strength, and unwavering willpower proved them wrong. She met every challenge with courage, never losing her sharp sense of humor or her deep faith.
Adele was known for her infectious laugh, meticulous appearance, and sassy personality. Despite her physical limitations, she took great pride in dressing elegantly each day, applying her makeup with one hand, and accessorizing to perfection. She found immense joy in flowers and gardening, caring for her grandchildren, and living her faith through daily prayer and saying her rosary.
Her later years were filled with simple joys-playing Bingo, making music with handbells, watching her favorite shows, and cheering on the Vikings and Twins. She cherished every moment spent with family working on puzzles.
Adele is survived by her children: Wayne, Cindy (Rich) Witkowski, Ralph (Monique), Marilyn, Darrin, and Dave (Sara); son-in-law Ron Markgraf; and sisters-in-law Charlotte and Eileen Sczepanski; grandchildren: Lindsay, Caitlin, Carrigan, Sarah, Danielle, Isaac, Eli, Misha, Jeffrey, Amy and great-grandchildren: Steven and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters Kathy Markgraf and Mary Theresa; and siblings Delphine Safranski, Monica Rhoden, Edmund, Gordon, Floyd, William, Tommy, and Frank Sczepanski.
Adele's strength and humor will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Stroke Association in her honor.
