Adele Pollack Witt (Bubbie), age 98, of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Mozaic Senior Life. Adele was born in 1925, in Bridgeport, CT, a daughter of the late Sam and Minerva Pollack, and was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport. After graduation, she started working for the family business, Fairfield Cleaners. Adele was then employed by American Frozen Foods for over 23 years. She volunteered at the Stratfield School in Fairfield for over 10 years, and also for the Fairfield Woods Public Library. Adele was an avid mahjong player, accomplished baker, and enjoyed knitting and sewing, and donating the items that she created. Adele and her late husband, Harry, were founding members of Congregation Beth El of Fairfield, now known as Or Hadash. Adele is survived by her devoted daughters, Marcia Heimann (William) of North Haven, CT, Robin Keller (Donald) of Fairfield, CT, adored grandson David Schneider (Lisa) of North Haven, CT, and cherished great-grandson, Nicholas Schneider, and a number of nieces and nephews. Adele was pre deceased by her husband, Harry Witt, in 1989, great-grandson, Kurt Schneider, in 2023, and by her siblings, Norman Pollack (Jean) and Pearl Strasser ( Louis). Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT, 06824, with interment following at Beth El Cemetery, 250 Reid Street in Fairfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Or Hadash, 1200 Fairfield Woods Road, Fairfield, CT.
