Adeline Nelson, 95, passed away peacefully of natural causes November 14, 2025, at her residence at Northern Pines Assisted Living. She was born August 15, 1930, at home on the family farm near Beroun, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo Sr. and Mary (Kolar) Habrman.
Adeline graduated from Pine City High School. She married Gordon Nelson on March 1, 1948, and they celebrated 62 years of marriage. Gordy and Adeline co-owned and operated Nelson’s Processing Plant until their retirement.
Adeline helped to start and served as president of the first Women’s Pine City Lions Club. One of her proudest achievements as a member was helping to raise money to build a children’s playground. In her free time, she loved to crochet and made countless blankets, hats, and mittens for her family and friends. She crocheted a wedding dress that won first prize at the Pine County Fair. Adeline loved listening to music, playing many instruments, dancing at Pine Camp with Gordy, and singing with her sisters.
She is survived by her children Robert Nelson (Wendy), Jane Jones (Robert) all of Pine City, MN, Carol Peterson of Longwood, FLorida, Lezlie Nordquist (Dale) of Roseville, Julie Cogger (Dave) of East Bethel, Jim Nelson (Brenda) of Pine City; grandchildren Amanda Wimmer, Nathan Jones, Bryar Nelson, Tracy Babler, Jessica Chapman, Brendt Nelson, Nicole Nordquist, Trisha Thomas Harakel, Meagan Thomas Betz, Ashley Berglund, Amy Miller, Travis Schwarz, Kyle Cogger and Jessica Cogger; many great and great great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Bartos (Rynie), Betty Struebing (Dave); foreign exchange student Susy DiPato of Argentina; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents Leo & Mary Habrman; husband Gordy; grandson John Peterson; sister Genevieve Runa (Frank), brother Leo Habrman Jr., brother-in-law Gene (Gerri) Nelson.
A Celebration of Adeline's Life will be held from 11-2:30 PM; Saturday, November 29, at the Pine City Country Club in Pine City.
Memorial contributions made in honor of Adeline will be distributed within the local community.
