Adlith Anglin-Laws 73, passed away on September 19, 2025, at her home ins Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on July 20, 1952, in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica to John Anglin and Mertella Lilladora Anglin. She grew up in Merry Hill, District of Jamaica.

She worked in the United Stated as a Nurse’s Aide. She retired after 30 years, and in 2019 she re-entered the workforce to help launch her daughter’s restaurant, where she shared her love for her Jamaican culture and the cuisine. She raised three children as a single mother working multiple jobs to ensure they had opportunities that she did not. In 1999 she married Vernal Laws. They shared 27 years together married. He was by her side until the day she passed.

She was preceded by her mother, Mertella Lilladora Anglin; father, John Anglin; sisters: Lucille James Cordoza, Murteleta Anglin-Pearson; brothers: Geddesbourne Lloyd James, Lasford Anglin, and Horace Ford James

She is survived by her husband, Vernal Laws, daughters: Tanyech Yarbrough, Christina Anglin-Roberts; son, Dainyon Jones; step-daughters: Romaine Laws, Tamara Laws; sisters Evelyn Anglin-Brown, Zether Adassa Anglin Esson; brother, Boycie Anglin, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
