After his military service, he worked as an Electrical Technician with the Scranton School District for twenty years. From 1969 to 2008, Al volunteered as a baseball umpire and basketball referee in both Pennsylvania and Arizona.
Al graduated from Scranton High School in 1961. He was the son of Adolph Klansek and Joya Romeo of Scranton, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, Saint Jude's Hospital, or Shriner's Hospital in Al's memory. A private memorial service will be held at the AZ National Cemetery handled by Messinger Mortuaries in Fountain Hills, AZ. An online guest book will be available.
