Janice Pauline (Bergstrom)Hanson of Fountain Hills, Arizona passed away on September 24, 2025 after a short, but fierce battle with cancer.

Janice was born in Bauxite, AK on March 5, 1943, to Alvin and Clara (Liliskov) Bergstrom. She completed their family, being the youngest of 4 children. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN in 1961, and married Wayne Hanson on December 11th, 1965. They welcomed their son, Todd Matthew Hanson on March 23rd, 1970.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband Wayne; siblings, Joanne Caspersen, Jack/Wally and Sylvia Bergstrom, and Jerry Bergstrom.

She is survived by her beloved son Todd, and wife, Diana Hanson.

Janice enjoyed reading. Some of her favorites included, her Bible, daily devotions, and spy novels. She also enjoyed knitting, and made many gifts that included hats for newborns at the local hospital. Janice was both crafty and artistic, which led to a passion for painting rocks. She turned rocks into fun images of animals or beautiful pieces of art, with positive messages of encouragement. She enjoyed giving them as gifts, or "hiding" them on her walks around the fountain or neighborhood. Her talent brought smiles to everyone who found one of her special creations.

She also enjoyed designing greeting cards using her amazing photographs, and she could wrap a gift so beautifully that it could rival Martha Stewart!

Janice was an amazing woman. She believed with her whole heart, the words to her favorite hymn, "It Is Well With My Soul":

"It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,

Life's trials will seem so small when we see Christ;

One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,

So bravely run the race till we see Christ."

She found God's peace in the midst of suffering, always looking to her Savior. She was the true hands, and feet of Jesus showing kindness, generosity, selflessness, and love, always with a grateful heart. She fully trusted her Precious Lord to take her hand and lead her home. She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews and cousins, and also by many special friends who loved her.

A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Monday October 13, 2025 at Minnesota Valley Church, 16075 Hawthorne Path, Lakeville MN 55044 with visitation starting at 1 PM at church.

Interment will be 11 AM Tuesday October 14, 2035, at Fort Snelling, 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, Wayne
