Adrian Roberts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on Dec. 31, 2025.
Adrian Burton Roberts passed away December 10, 2025, in Midwest City, OK. He was born in Coffeyville, KS, on November 16,1942 to Arnett Burton Roberts and Opal (Carnes) Roberts. The family moved to Midwest City in 1947 and he graduated from Midwest City High School in 1960. While studying architecture at the University of Oklahoma, he married Della Kay Allen (Owensby), and they had two children, Allen and Nicole.
Adrian lived a full and adventurous life which provided an abundance of material for the many entertaining stories he always shared with family and friends. Known as Bert in his early years, his time spent with a loving extended family and dedicated involvement in Boy Scouts led to a love of the outdoors and sports such as hiking, fishing, skiing, tennis, golf, and travel. He also loved music, movies, and writing. After college, he practiced architecture in Midwest City, Sante Fe, Denver, Highlands, NC, and Saudi Arabia for over 20 years. While living in Atlanta, GA, he learned to play the coronet with aspirations of playing professionally. He then pivoted and pursued an acting career, going on to perform on both stage and screen in plays, TV series and movies, and feature films such as 'Tom and Huck' and 'The Rainmaker' from 1988 to 2016. Watching and cheering for the Oklahoma Sooners and the Thunder gave him much joy in his last years, and he never lost his ability to tell a witty and perfectly timed joke.
Adrian was preceded in death by his parents, Arnett and Opal; sister, Sue; and favorite dogs, Tad and Daisy. He is survived by his son, Allen and wife Gabrielle; daughter, Nicole and husband Russ; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; niece, Julie; niece, D'Anne and husband Greg; and three great nieces and their spouses and children.
A memorial service will be held on January 7, 2026 at 10am at Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral home, 1820 S. Douglas Blvd. in Midwest City, to celebrate his life.
