Agnes Hull Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith & Sons Funeral Home - Columbia City on May 7, 2025.
Agnes Elnora Hull, 90, of rural Pierceton, passed away at 10:39 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, where she was admitted a week ago.
Born on January 7, 1935, in Whitley County, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Lillie (Phillips) Kelley. Growing up in Collins, she completed her formal education at Collins School.
On April 11, 1953, she married Gale W. Hull. They made their home in Columbia City, raising two sons. Gale died on April 3, 2010.
She began her work career at the former Blue Bell of Columbia City. After raising her family, she worked as a playground supervisor at Mary Raber Elementary School and then for over 25 years in housekeeping for Miller's Merry Manor.
A people person, she loved being with family and friends, joining them regularly at a local restaurant or for a shopping journey. She is remembered for her good humor and as a wonderful mother and grandmother. When the grandkids and great-grandkids came along, she enjoyed getting down on the floor to their level and playing with them. A woman of faith, she unselfishly served her church for over 50 years as a custodian and faithful member.
She is survived by her sons, Steve (Pam) Hull of Columbus and Phil (Janet) Hull of Pierceton; grandchildren, Jason Hull, Jamie (William) Carlson, Andrew (Amanda) Hull, Brian (Kassie) Hull, Marc (Danielle) Eggleston, Aaron (Rachel) Hull, and Jessica Eggleston; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and siblings, Harold Kelley of Florida, Sharon (Dean) Growcock of Columbia City, Leonard (Melinda) Kelley of Bloomington and Wanda (Eugene) Herendeen of Columbia City.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by her brothers Harry Jr., Roy, and Roger Kelley, as well as a sister, Phyllis Hopingarner.
Visitation is on Tuesday (May 13th) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, (May 14th) at the Columbia City Church of the Nazarene, with visitation 1 hour before the service. Agnes will be interred next to her husband.
Memorials in Agnes's honor are to the Columbia City Church of the Nazarene.
