Agnes Vandermark (née Rankin), beloved wife of the late Charles Vandermark passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the age of 97 years.
She was born in Trochu Alberta moving to numerous towns including Vulcan, Black Diamond and Aldersyde eventually settling in Calgary and graduating from Western Canada High School. Agnes’s skilled shorthand landed her a job working for the ex-mayor of Calgary Sam Adams, eventually moving on to work at A.P. Grain where she met her future husband, Charlie.
After raising a family Agnes decided to go back to work spending several years working at Dr. Oakley Junior High and Altadore Elementary as school secretary for the Calgary Board of Education retiring in 1987.
She is survived by her three children Linda (Don), Chris and Bill (Kathleen), grandchildren Krista (Ronak), Mark and Ryan (Emily), and great-grandchildren Alisha and Lianna. She is also survived by her sister Merle of Victoria B.C. and many nieces & nephews.

At Agnes’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes can be made to a charity of your choice.
