With hearts overflowing with grief and love, we announce the passing of our precious angel, Ahmani Faye Mordi, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the tender age of 5.
Born on March 2, 2020, in Birmingham, Alabama, Ahmani was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. Her smile lit up every room, her giggles were contagious, and her presence brought comfort and joy beyond words.
Ahmani adored all things Barbie, Mickey Mouse, and CoComelon, and she loved sipping her favorite drink-lemonade-while watching her favorite shows or playing with her toys. Whether twirling in a pink dress or cuddling with her favorite stuffed animal, Ahmani was a vision of sweetness, innocence, and joy.
She was deeply loved by her devoted parents, Michael Emeka Mordi, Jr. and Aushea Fakita Mordi, her sister Mykaelah Mordi who cherished every moment with their little girl. She also leaves behind her adoring grandparents, Simona Cannon and Mary Parker, and a host of loving family members, godparents, and friends. During her brief time here, she also touched the hearts of the caring doctors and nurses who supported her with compassion.
A public viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Cornerstone Funeral Services & Cremations Chapel, located at 2416 Carson Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35215. To honor Ahmani's vibrant spirit, the family encourages guests to wear her favorite color-pink-as a tribute to the joy and light she brought to the world.
Though her time with us was far too short, Ahmani's love, laughter, and bright spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
"Let the little children come to me for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." – Matthew 19:14
