Aileen Joy Furlong Welch

Aileen Joy Furlong Welch left this world December 28, 2016 to be with God and her family. She was the loving daughter of Elmo and Ethel Dugan. She married Frank Furlong and had two children, Mark and Brenda. After 46 years together, Frank passed in 1994, and Mark in 2012. She married William "Bud" Welch in 1997 and shared her final days with him. She was a "JOY" to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her beautiful smile will be missed but never forgotten. This world is a better place because of Aileen's charitable works. She was a lifetime member of the Christ Child Society and volunteered 45 years for the Kettering Medical Center. She also was an interior designer and brought beauty to many homes, including those that her first husband Frank Furlong built over 40 years. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Furlong Rixey and her husband Jim Rixey; grandson Alex Rixey and his wife Ivy; and granddaughter Leigh Rixey. A joint memorial service will be held for Aileen and husband Bud, who passed two days before. Services will be held at St. Paul's Church, 33 W Dixon Ave, Dayton, OH 45419 on Saturday, December 31 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers please give to Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420) who made her journey to Heaven peaceful.
