Akiem K. Byrd

Akiem Kalee Byrd, Jr. 26, of Vineland, New Jersey, went home to be with the lord unexpectedly on Monday, February 2, 2026. He was born on August 1,1999 in Bridgeton, New Jersey to Kimberly Hayes and Akiem Byrd, Sr. Akiem grew up in Vineland, New Jersey and graduated from Vineland High School class of 2017. He was most recently employed by Advance Highway Service Traffic Control.

Akiem really enjoyed playing basketball and video games. He loved spending time with family, ESPECIALLY his son. Akiem enjoyed music and he would always listen to Rod Wave and NBA Youngboy. He would spend his free time at the casino in hopes that he would hit BIG. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan in hopes every year they would make it to the Super Bowl.

Akiem is survived by; both of his parents, Kimberly Hayes of Vineland, New Jersey and Akiem K. Byrd, Sr. of Bridgeton, New Jersey; his only child, Akiem K.Byrd, lll of Vineland, New Jersey; his siblings, Nacear K. Byrd and Kaylyn Murray of Vineland, New Jersey; grandparents, Nadine Byrd McClendon (Alfonso) of Bridgeton, New Jersey and David Thomkins, Sr. (Debbie) of North Carolina; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He leaves to cherish; his childhood best friend, Moses Badillo. He was preceded in death by; a brother, Raymond H. Palmer, Jr.; grandparents, Kateurah Hayes and Joesph Cook of Bridgeton New Jersey; and great-grandmother, Esther Helen Logan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 11 AM at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 90 Matthew Brown Way, Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedarville following the service.
