Alan Bruce Cady (74), of International Falls, died on July 5, 2025, at Essentia Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Brainerd, MN. Alan was born on March 23, 1951, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Donald and Lillian (Bruhn) Cady. He grew up in St. Paul. When he was in high school his family moved to Isanti, MN. Al graduated from Cambridge High School in 1969.
As a young boy, Al was humorous and adventuresome. When he was a young man, Al's father remodeled an old school bus and named it the "Jesus Bus." Al joined his father in evangelizing to families and children.
Al married Carmen Sue Mulvihill on May 16, 1981. His wife of 44 years worked by his side in the church ministry and in raising their family until they were separated at Al's home-going to heaven.
In 1981, Al and Carmen moved to Mercedes, TX, and worked as children and youth pastors at First Christian Church. While there, they had children Victor and Tiffany. In 1992, they returned to Pine City, MN, where their family grew to include Levi and Caleb. Al was deeply devoted to his family.
Al and Carmen helped with many children and youth ministries by doing puppet shows and dramas. Al had a great imagination. He and Carmen made their own puppets, and Al would frequently dress up like a clown to entertain families and children. Al loved giving out Bibles and helped lead many people to Christ.
Al was a big kid at heart and his children said, "He was a clown, even when he wasn't dressed up." He always had something planned for any kids who were around. He was very social and could talk to anyone. Whether he was working as a truck driver or a caregiver in an assisted living home, Al had a servant's heart and was always willing to help someone. He volunteered at the Northern Options for Women, providing winter care and maintenance for their facility. He loved to go fishing on Minnesota's plentiful lakes. He read the Bible every morning and always kept up with the news.
Al was a proud grandfather to Vivian, who called him Papa. Papa would make Vivian laugh and laugh by "sneezing" with a tissue over his mouth.
In recent years, Al and Carmen retired in
International Falls, MN, where they attended Full Gospel Fellowship and Al attended the Gateway Church men's Bible study every Friday morning.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lillian, and brother, Roland Cady.
Al is survived by his wife, Carmen; sons: Victor Alan, Levi Matthew, and Caleb Donald Cady; daughters, Tiffany Joy and husband, Brandon Stauffer, and Shareen (Holm) and husband, Rich Crosby, and grandchildren: Vivian, Lane and Liv; brothers, Matthew Cady, and Nathan (Marlene) Cady; sister, Rose (Larry) Lundy; sister-in-law, Cathy Cady; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
A celebration of life will be held on August 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 1631 1st AVE E International Falls and an additional celebration will be held on August 23, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Living Water Fellowship Church, 915 W 8th ST, Rush City, MN.
