Al was born in Laurens, Iowa on November 3, 1951 to Martin and Darlene (Cleveland) Aronson of Albert City. Al lived most of his life in the Albert City area. As an infant, he was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City. After graduating from Albert City-Truesdale School, he moved to Storm Lake where he worked at Gibson’s Store.

While in Storm Lake, he met his future wife, Lori Schilling, who was a student at Buena Vista College. On March 23, 1974, they were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa. To this union, two children were born: Michael James and Andrea Jean. After living in Storm Lake, and then Davenport, the family settled in the Albert City area where they spent the rest of their lives until they moved to Methodist Manor.

Al was very active in his community and worked at Ag Partners for over 37 years. He was also in the Army National Guard for just under 10 years. Al umpired Little League baseball for many years, always had a large garden of both flowers and produce, and enjoyed going fishing. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert City for the first 50 years, followed by the Evangelical Free Church of Albert City, and most recently at the Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake.

Al is survived by his wife, Lori Aronson; children: Michael (Angie) Aronson of Albany, Minnesota; Andrea (Mike) Brabec of Early, Iowa; siblings: Dick (Sandy) Aronson of Albert City, Iowa; Tom (Joni) Aronson of Albert City, Iowa; Julie (Gary) Hogrefe of Albert City, Iowa; Larry (Connie) Aronson of Hudson, Iowa; Sandy (Jeff) Westcott of Albert City, Iowa; grandchildren: Alex and Hope Aronson; Johnathan Hoeft; two great-grandchildren; Sandy (Kipp) Spence of Davenport, Iowa; Stan (Elle) Anderson of Lompoc, California; cousins, nieces and nephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Darlene Aronson, and parents-in-law, Paul and Lois Schilling.
