Alan Baer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home on Feb. 22, 2026.
Clinton-Alan C. Baer, 79, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at UMass Medical Center-University Campus in Worcester following a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Grace (Vessella) Baer; his son, Michael Baer & wife Mary; two grandchildren, Kevin Baer & wife Bri, and Caitlin Baer & companion Ann; several nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his sister, Marianne Tencati.

Son of the late Curtis & Anne (Gorsuch) Baer, Alan was born and raised in Clinton and was a graduate of the Clinton High School, Class of 1964. He proudly served our nation in the United States Army National Guard and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant First Class. Alan spent his professional career as an electronic assembly technician, working for various companies throughout the years. He was a man of great faith, life member of the former German Congregational Church in Clinton and current member of the First Parish in Sterling. Among his greatest interests, Alan never missed a car show at Green Hill Park or Kimball Farm, where he proudly displayed his green and gold 1964 Chevy truck, the "Galloping Gael." Although a long time Worcester resident, Alan's heart and allegiances remained in Clinton, where he cherished his lifelong memories and friendships from his hometown, which he visited frequently. He too was an accomplished do-it-yourselfer, having completed countless renovation and home enhancement projects. Above all, he was a devoted family man, a loving husband, proud father and grandfather.

A Calling Hour will be held from 10-11AM on Friday, Ferbruary 27, 2026 in the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meetinghouse Hill Rd., with a Funeral Service immediately following at 11AM. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. Online condolences may be placed at www.philbincomeaufh.com
