Alan passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Brian’s House in Essexville, Michigan at the age of 72. He was born on December 7, 1951 to the late Francis and Shirley (Macauley) Bednarczyk in Bay City, Michigan. Alan enjoyed riding his Harley, going to car shows and camping with his family. He also loved nature, going for walks, history and spending time with his grandchildren.
Alan is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan (Walton) Bednarczyk, whom he married on June 12, 1976. He is also survived by his children, Joshua (Lynn) Bednarczyk, Kyle Bednarczyk, Kristyn (Tim) Dutton and Brooke (Ryan) DeLeeuw; grandchildren, William Blohm-Bednarczyk, Darby Blohm-Bednarczyk, Owen Heppner and Olivia DeLeeuw; siblings, Jim (Karen) Bednarczyk, Gary (Lainey) Stevens, Bruce Bednarczyk, Susan (Richard “Dick”) Mulvey and Mark (Laura) Bednarczyk and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Bednarczyk.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Brian’s House for all their care and compassion and to everyone that cared for him.
Memorial Service for Alan will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Gary Stevens. The family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Brian’s House.
