Alan Martin Cannon, 84, of Houston, Texas, was peacefully promoted to Heaven on August 19, 2025. He is now absent from the body and face to face with the Lord.

Born on August 11, 1941, in Kansas City, Missouri, Alan devoted his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In the early 1970s, he moved his family from Kansas City to Houston to attend Berachah Church, where he faithfully served for decades. He was a Deacon and Chairman of the Ushers Committee from 1991 to 2024, leaving a lasting legacy of learning and living the Word of God each day.

Alan had a wide range of passions throughout his life, including his love for his dogs, motorcycles, jeeps, and his strong support of the Second Amendment. He was also a skilled craftsman and entrepreneur, owning and operating Cannon Craft Wall Coverings for 47 years. His work graced many of Houston's most beautiful homes, including those in River Oaks, and he was highly respected by top designers across the city.

He is joyfully reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Martha Jo Cannon; his daughter, Terri Yvonne Jones; and his parents, Helen and Lawrence Cannon.

Alan is lovingly remembered by his sister, Elaine Sawtell of Springfield, Missouri; his children: Larry Cannon and wife Alicia, Cindy Tipton, Kevin Slavens, Cindi Grimm and husband Kurt of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Brad Slavens and wife Carmen of Vancouver, Washington; and his son-in-law Dallas Jones of Houston, Texas. He is also cherished by his grandchildren: Jon-Alan Queen and wife Sarah, Victoria Queen, Peyton Jones and wife Maranda, Dylan Tipton, and Nick Jones, as well as five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Berachah Church, 2815 Sage Road, Houston, Texas 77056. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Berachah Church in Alan's honor.
