Mr. Alan R. Dunagan, age 67, of Armuchee, Georgia, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Alan was born in Gordon County, Georgia, on October 11, 1957, son of the late Clyde William Dunagan and the late Irene Everett Dunagan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Douglas Paul Dunagan and Kenneth Dwight Dunagan.

Alan was a logger with his family at Dunagan & Sons Logging, Inc. until his retirement. He loved sawmilling, building, fishing, gardening, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend; he will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Melissa Sue Hardin Dunagan; daughter, Laurel Ferguson (Josh); sons, Josh Dunagan (Christina)and Matt Dunagan (Natalie); siblings, Yvonne Willingham (David), Tommy Dunagan (Becky), and Edwin Dunagan (Pam); 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Everett Springs Baptist Church, with Pastor Micca Gillespie officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked to plant a tree to honor Alan.

A precious note written by Alan to his wife Lissa on July 4, 2025, read: "If I'd been able to place an order ahead of time for a best friend and wife, it could've never been as perfect as you are for me"
