Alan Roy Gunton Obituary Alan R. Gunton, of Mentor, passed away Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, returning to the heavens on the same day he came into this world, his 84th birthday.
Born in 1941, in Cleveland, Alan lived in Lake County for the past 60 years.
Alan spent his career as an electrical engineer with Middough Inc., where he was respected for his expertise, professionalism, and dedication until his retirement in 2013.

Outside of work and church, Alan found joy in life's simple pleasures - cheering on his favorite sports teams, admiring classic cars, and enjoying a good happy hour with friends. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose love for his family was steadfast and unconditional.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Alan was the beloved husband of Caroline (nee Werley) Gunton; loving father of Ronald (Jill) Gunton; cherished grandfather of Nicolas (Alyssa), Cody (Brittany), Alexis (Andrew) and Tori (Brandon); great-grandfather of 8; and brother of Lee (Lidia) Gunton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy H. and Maude A. (nee Glenn) Gunton.
