Elsie Mary Glavac ObituaryElsie Mary Glavac (nee Mavko), age 99, of Chardon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025.
Born to the late Matthew and Louise Mavko (nee Mulc), Elsie lived a long and fulfilling life centered around faith, family, and friendship. She was the beloved wife of the late William Glavac, with whom she shared 39 wonderful years of marriage, and the devoted mother of Bill (Pattie) Glavac and Luann Glavac. She was the cherished grandmother of Joe (Jennifer) Kupiec and proud great-grandmother of Madison, Kyle, and Chloe Kupiec. She was preceded in death by her dear husband William, her parents, and her brothers Lou (Jo) Mavko and Ed (Kay & Janet) Mavko.
Elsie was known for her warmth, generosity, and many talents. She was an avid reader and loved spending time in her flower gardens, which she tended with great care. A wonderful cook and baker, Elsie's homemade pies-especially her famous black raspberry pies-were a treasured treat for family and friends alike.
She enjoyed a good game of cards and cherished the lifelong friendships she made through her Euclid Card Club, where she played faithfully for over 50 years. Summers were especially dear to her, spent at her beloved Maple Springs Cottage on Chautauqua Lake, where she and her family created memories for 47 wonderful years.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, OH 44060. A private burial at All Souls Cemetery will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, (17876 St. Clair Avenue; Cleveland, OH 44110-2602) whose compassionate care and support meant so much.
Elsie's legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
