Alan Hans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley Funeral Home - Marlton on Mar. 31, 2025.
Alan P. Hans, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Mt. Laurel, NJ, on March 28, 2025, at the age of 88.
Alan shared 61 years of partnership and devotion with his beloved wife, Betty (née Wutzer). Together, they raised two sons which were their pride and joy. He is survived by his wife, Betty, his sons, Alan Jr. (daughter-in-law, Patty), Ken (daughter-in-law, Liz), and his six grandchildren Emma, Kate, Charlotte, Alex, Addison and Billy. Alan treasured his grandchildren, beamed with pride at their accomplishments, and instilled in them the values of love, laughter and importance of family. He is also survived by his sister, Irene Mlodzinski, as well as many loving extended family members and friends.
After serving his country with honor in the US Marines, Alan attended Drexel University, where he furthered his education and forged lifelong friendships as a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. His dedication to service shone brightly during the 1970s when Alan, with his wife, Betty, became very active members of the Jaycees/Jayceettes, with both serving as presidents of their local chapter and contributing to numerous initiatives that benefited their community.
Alan brought joy to his family and friends in many ways. He often found himself the center of attention in social gatherings and was an excellent story and joke teller. He had a natural ability to captivate an audience, entertaining all with tales of his youth and life experiences. His role as family cinematographer captured countless precious moments, preserving memories that will continue to bring joy for generations to come. Alan's basement was a hub of friendly competition, where he could often be found shooting pool or throwing darts. An excellent bowler who threw countless 200+ games, Alan's competitive spirit was matched only by his encouragement and support for those he played with. His love for sports extended to being an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Sixers, and Phillies, where his enthusiasm for his hometown teams were both intense and infectious.
Above all, Alan cherished his family's passions and activities. He loved attending performances of his children and grandchildren, athletic and artistic alike, celebrated their successes as their biggest cheerleader, and served as an unwavering supporter of their dreams and ambitions.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday April 5th from 10-11 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt.73 and Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org or the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org/

Alan was a good man. He and Betty helped me get through grieving for the loss of my husband. I was two years grieving and they befriended me and got me back into living my life and reaching out to help others. They saved me with their kindness and inclusion. I will be eternally grateful.

Alan was always helpful, friendly, humorous, and caring. We need more of these qualities in our world today. Thank you, Alan for being you. Rest in peace, my friend.

Love, Thel Wutzer

We enjoyed spending time with Mr Hans in and around U Penn related events like this dinner at Beijing before a basketball game in Dec 2017. He was always so excited and interested in Kenny and his friends. We remember his quick smile and enthusiasm for whatever we were doing at the time. My life is better for having been around Mr Hans and his family. Sending much love from the Kegler family.
