Alan was born on February 4, 1957, in Evansville, IN. to Bernard Gerald Harter, and the late Ruth Leona (Robb) Harter.
Alan was a high school graduate of Tecumseh High School, also he had a bachelor's from Oakland City University, he worked for the State of Indiana.
Alan like to walk around all over Lynnville, he Loved to play the Lottery, enjoyed all types of sports, fishing, dirt bikes, and Bowling.
Alan is survived by his father; Bernard Gerald Harter (Zonya), sister; Shirley Doty, brothers; Lonnie Harter and Gary Harter, along with nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday November 1, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM in Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville.
Graveside side services will be Saturday November 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Lynnville Cemetery.
Donations can be made to the family in c/o Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home.

When we moved to Lynnville, I was in 6th grade and Alan "Popeye" was in the 7th grade. For some reason, I became friends with him because he made me feel welcomed. As we went through Tecumseh, I learned he treated everyone with that welcoming personality. It has been a very long time since our paths have crossed, but I´m sure he´s carried that trait throughout the rest of his life. He is someone I will never forget.
