Roger Georges Obituary
Roger was born in Evansville, Indiana, on January 12, 1947, to the late C. Vincent Georges and Betty (May) Georges.
Roger was saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ in 1966. Later that year, he married Gloria Jean "Jeannie" Georges. He served in the Army and fought in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged an E5 Mechanic Motor Pool Sargent.
Roger was a farmer for most of his life. He also was a coal miner working for Vigo Coal Company. He especially enjoyed showing Brangus cattle in the 1980's. Roger also coached girls' high school basketball at Evansville Christian School and attended Barnett Chapel where he served as a trustee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Douglas Beard.
Roger is survived by his wife of 59 years Gloria "Jeannie" (Siekman) Georges, their children, Robert (Kristine) Georges, Glenda (Micheal) Schapker, and Joel (Misty) Georges, fourteen grandchildren, Graham (Katie) Hess, Ellen (Luke) Hassfurther, Obadiah (Leigha) Georges, Justus Georges, Anna (Scott) Mleczko, Phebe (Cory) Kern, Josiah (Delaney) Georges, Ethan Georges, Kaleb (Ginger) Georges, Joshua (Liana) Georges, Abigail (Aaron) Krueger, Rachel (Dalten) Cook, Sarah (Ethan) Spinks, Hannah Georges, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two honorary granddaughters, Mya Faulkner and Elizabeth Reed. Brothers Ronald (Charlet) Georges, Richard (the late Karen) Georges, and Ruben Georges. Sisters Tanya (Charles) Gries and Victoria (Jeffery) Martin as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements are as follows: Visitation Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Pemberton Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville, Indiana. Visitation Monday, February 16, 2026, at Barnett Chapel in Elberfeld, Indiana from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Townsley Cemetery in Mackey, Indiana

Roger was a great cousin. My brother and I spent countless hours with Roger and Ronnie as youngsters. I especially liked it when our family visited with them on their family farm. We had no way of knowing in the innocence of our youth that we would both share the experience of combat in Vietnam. He will live in my memory. RIP, Roger
