Willard Alan Jensen, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, in Ogden, Utah. Alan was born on August 2, 1949, in
Brigham City, Utah, to Robert E. and Gloria H. Jensen. He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1967 and spent his entire life rooted in Northern Utah, a place he called home.
Alan proudly served his country as an E4 Specialist (SP4) in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division, the "Screaming Eagles," with Troop A, 2/17 Cavalry. During the Vietnam War (1970–1971), he was stationed near the DMZ at Qu ng Tr Air Base, where he specialized in aircraft hydraulics for Huey, Cobra, and Chinook helicopters. His unit received the Valorous Unit Award for extraordinary heroism during Operation Lam Son 719. He performed high-stakes repairs under the relentless vibration of B-52 bombings and narrowly escaped a massive ammunition dump explosion that nearly leveled his hangar.
Following his military service, Alan worked for Hill Air Force Base for 20 years as an aircraft systems mechanic. In later years, he became a ectionately known as the "Warp Wizard" at Baron Woolen Mills and handled a wide range of operations for Corinne City as a trusted jack-of-all-trades-maintaining secondary water systems, caring for the local cemetery, and solving whatever problem needed fixing. A skilled millwright, he was fond of saying, "I'm a millwright. I mill around and make things right." Known for his sharp wit and playful sense of humor, Alan loved a good prank and could often be found enjoying a game of pinball.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gloria Jensen, and his brothers, Mark and Von.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Wendy Alane Jensen, and his siblings Kevin, Quinn, and Kathleen, along with many friends and community members who benefited from his kindness, humor, and steady presence.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, and hospice sta whose compassionate care and unwavering support brought comfort and peace to Alan during his final journey. Their kindness will always be remembered.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E.,
Brigham City, UT. Viewings will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and before the funeral service on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m., both at the mortuary. Interment will follow at the Brigham City Cemetery.
