Alan was born on September 18, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Stanford and Joan (Rosendahl) Jossie. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1976 and later retired from Amana Refrigeration after dedicating 40 years to the company.
Alan deeply cherished his family. He made it a point to call each member every week and genuinely enjoyed their time together. You could always rely on him for a good conversation—his humor was often sarcastic, but his heart was full of love. Whether it was family, friends, or even strangers, Alan was always ready to lend a hand—you could always count on him. He had a strong affection for his Ford truck and enjoyed going fishing from time to time. He never missed a race at Cordova Dragway, it was his favorite event to attend.
Survivors include his children, Gia (Troy) Holten, Jeremy (Colleen) Jossie, Stephan Jossie, and Sara Jossie; grandchildren Carson, Gage, Luke, and Ella; and siblings Mike (Liz) Jossie, Laura (Kevin) Vaske, and Lisa (Randy) Heller.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Robert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be in care of Jeremy Jossie.
