Alan Marcarelli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by North Haven Funeral Home, Inc. on May 10, 2025.
Alan David Marcarelli, 34, of Wallingford, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his home. Born in New Haven on June 8, 1990, he was the beloved son of Steven Marcarelli and the late Nancy Armstead Marcarelli.
A proud graduate of the University of Connecticut with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Alan dedicated 11 years as a skilled and passionate software engineer at 3M and the spinoff company, Solventum.
A man of sharp wit and endless humor, Alan brightened every room with his quick jokes and love of trivia. He found camaraderie in tabletop games-whether strategizing in role-playing adventures, mastering deck-building challenges, or sharing laughter over board games with friends and family. The arts held a special place in his heart, and he was a devoted supporter of local theater, never missing a production by the Goodspeed or Terris theaters. Alan's fascination with Japanese art and culture was a deep passion. He immersed himself in the language and recently fulfilled a dream with a transformative two-week trip to Japan. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and open heart.
He is also survived by his brother Eric Marcarelli, stepmother Patti Marcarelli, stepbrothers Fred Moore III and Kevin Moore, and cousin Zachary Armstead who grew up by his side.
The visiting hours will be on Saturday, June 7th from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM in The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
