Alan Rasmussen Obituary
Alan J Rasmussen passed away at the age of 63 in Orlando, Florida where he had been a long time resident. He was born on March 5, 1960 in Port Jervis, NY to the late Hans A Rasmussen and Anna B (Hicks) Rasmussen. Alan graduated from Port Jervis High School and attended and graduated from University of Tampa in 1982. Alan was an educator and was heavily involved in many civic and community organizations.
He is survived by his maternal cousins Bernetta Drapala and family of Port Jervis, NY, Belinda Bodensieck and family of Port Jervis, NY and Francine Hicks of Milford, PA. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Thunder. He also leaves behind many friends from work and church. He will be greatly missed. Alan was predeceased by his parents, and his uncles Fred Hicks and Joseph V Hicks. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24 at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home from 6PM to 8PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 10AM at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home with a committal service at Greenwood Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Alans name to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
